A pall of gloom descended on village Devi Wala after a 40-year-old farmer, Sukhpreet Singh, was tragically electrocuted while attempting to repair a power supply line at his family’s ancestral religious place.
According to reports, Sukhpreet, son of Bhagwan Singh, had initially gone to his agricultural fields to manage the irrigation water.
However, he received a call asking him to come to the religious site to fix an electrical issue.
He allegedly climbed a ladder to reach the utility pole and attempted to repair the fault while the main power supply was still active. He suffered a massive electric shock and fell to the ground.Following the severe shock, a critically injured Sukhpreet was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Tragically, the attending doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The untimely demise of the hardworking, cooperative, and helpful youth has left the entire village in deep mourning. The deceased is survived by his wife and two minor children.
Sukhpreet’s father, brother, and sister are currently residing abroad. Family members have stated that the cremation will be held once his relatives return home to pay their final respects.
