Deputy commissioner Faridkot,Punamdeep Kaur on Tuesday chaired a meeting with the officials concerned about road safety in the district.
The deputy commissioner instructed the concerned officials to strictly ensure the compliance of the road safety rules in the district.
“The people should be made fully aware about the rules regarding the road safety and their complete compliance be made,” she asked the officials attending the meeting.
The DC also asked the officials to ensure that all school vans strictly follow the rules and guidelines laid down by the honourable courts and the school students be made to travel safely.
The DC also asked the officials for the medical check up of the drivers of the school vans etc.
Hajot Kaur,Regional Transport Officer(RTO) Faridkot assured the DC to fully implement all the instructions regarding the road safety and safe school vehicles policy in the district.
She said that the transport officials have also been provided training about I-Dar and E-Dar.
“Those who violate the traffic rules must be fined so that people can drive safely,” said Punamdeep Kaur,DC Faridkot,in a press release to the media today.
