Sometimes one does not have anything to prove himself right despite telling many and many lies.If lies are repeated and repeated emphatically and rhetorically,it mostly subdues the truth.
So do the political parties.
They,by all means,fair or foul,create a narrative.They play with the emotions of the electors and then enjoy the full 5 years term.So did AAP.
On the other hand,the people of Punjab,the electorate did not have any option in 2022.They were angry with the SAD,equally with the Congress,so there was a political vaccume.To fill up the gap,AAP led by Bhagwant Mann filled up it.Mann as a popular satrist,reformer in his satires for decades, was a party and everything in itself.Nobody allegedly wanted to vote for Kejriwal then.But Mann,with deep political ambitions and his oratory skills ,with very presence of mind to answer back,unmatched knowledge of politics,got Arvind Kejriwal a reckoned figure in the state.Kejriwal,then became an image of renunciation,simplicity and a change in political system which was dashed off soon after the party got 92 seats.
Then who were the Punjabis and who was its poster boy,former IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh?The party won and power hungry people from Delhi ,allegedly close to the high command,started calling their shots.
Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was the mostly used and then thrown away person who was even did not for long allot time to speak up in the assembly.He has been vocal against injustice meted out to him with many interview to the private channels.
He had an imprint in the minds of Sikh community to allegedly investigate sacrilege cases fairly.
In 2022,Bhagwant Mann was a name that had an association with the Punjabis.”We shall vote for Mann,” people mostly said.Others,who were given tickets,were fortunate and got votes in the name of Mann.
But Mann they allegedly elcted tonpower to head the state,soon changed.He became a seasoned politician and now has done whatever he was against during his speeches criticising the SAD and Congress. What happened after the AAP came to power, is totally against its ideology.The VVIP culture became more apparent.So remained the other things,mafia etc.
Then the AAP Punjab got elected 7 members for Rajya Sabha from Punjab,except Balvir Singh Seechewal,the party ignored the interests of Punjab,intoxicated with absolute power.
But now, when they have,except Seechewal, claimed that they have merged with the BJP,AAP is crying foul.
“They are the murderers of the democracy.They are traitors.They have cheated the people of Punjab and the party,” this was the party line today when the three elected representatives of the AAP from district burnt the effigies of the detractors.
But the questions arise that if you allegedly cheat the whole state promising a change which is nowhere in sight,you are also allegedly opportunists.
The opportunists allegedly sent opportunists to thevupper house and they outsmarted you.
If you really got elected the people with a heartfelt sympathy with Punjab and they were not businessmen,they would not have deserted you.
Businessmen have their interests and they are alway under the lens of government agencies.
When AAP allegedly parted ways from it’s ideology,it first sidelined it’s founding members.Now party has felt deep pains when those left it who enjoyed all power,pelf,glory and perks.
In politics, who does not grab the opportunity,he does not shine,goes into the darkness.
This is a great lesson for the AAP and for those too,if you are joining BJP ,it is just for your survival.due to many reasons, but soon you would be a thing of the past as well.
The BJP allegedly usurps regional parties and has an agenda of a centrally dominant party,where no more than two -three people have a say.
Now AAP has almost enjoyed power for four years,Punjab has sank into more debt,freebies are more prominent to come into power,BJP is playing allegedly arm twisting move and congress is a divided house.
Only time would tell what happens next.
