A unique kind of Birds house has been constructed in a village in Faridkot to provide shelter to the birds which like to make their nestles on the trees. As some of the species of the birds are on the verge of extinct because of the constant shrinking cover of the trees, suitable for birds to live and hatch their young ones.
“This is the idea of my cousin Lakhwinder Singh Gill son of late Ajmer Singh who is living in Canada. They had seen such structure on mobile and decided to get it constructed in the native village Nathewala Navan on the birthday of his daughter,” said Jagdev Singh , Sarpanch of the village.
“This is perhaps first in the Faridkot district and I have heard that some such structures have been built in village LopoKe by the Sant of Dera there,” Jagdev Singh said.
The structure is 56 feet tall and 10 feet deep in the ground.
“This is the first Birds house which we have constructed in Punjab, but we have constructed more than 250 such bird shelters in Gujrat and even In Agra,UP.The shelter can accommodate about 2000 to 2500 birds which like to live on the three,” said Jigar Bhai when contacted by The Punjab Express.com.
He runs AJ Infrastructure company.
He has a fully trained team ol 15 persons which build such bird houses.
“The family learnt about it and then came in the contact of some Gujrati family in Canada. They provided them the basic information and told about the builders. It took them about two weeks to complete it,” said Jagdev Singh.
To raise the structure, a 10 feet by ten feet and 11 feet deep pit is dug up.A concreate slab is constructed on the platform and then 56 feet tall pillar is built on it. All the material used in it mainly brought by the builders.
The work has been completed in about 9 lakh rupees.
“We have charged 8.80 lakh rupees for it. Mainly pigeons like to live in the readymade nestles and apart from those, some other animals also adopt this shelter. It is fully successful,” say Jigar Bhai.
