The dead body of Agniveer Akashdeep Singh son of Balwinder Singh,21, has arrived in his village Chahal,near Faridkot.
Akashdeep Singh,who had been recruited as an Agnivir little less than 2 years ago, was killed on duty in Jammu on Thursday morning.
Two Jawans were killed on duty Thursday including Akashdeep Singh and another from Amritsar district.
The deceased had just come to his village on April 12 and left to join the duty on april 17.
A large number of the people expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
“The government policy makes a discrimination between the regular army Jawans and Agniveers.It can not be justified at all. The bullets don’t make any differences to anyone on the line of duty. So the government must strat regular army Jawans instead of Agniveers for a short period of time,” said Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal,PRO to Speaker PVS Kultar Singh Sandhwan.
Kultar Singh also visited the family today to share grief with it.
Sandhwan said that the cause of the death of the Martyr is being investigated.
The deceased was cremated with full militry honour today.
