Faridkot police, as a precautionary measure detained dozens of the members of the BKU Sidhupur-Ekta before they could make it to the venue at village Chandbaja where the Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had to meet the public and inaugurate the first Gym in the state after which the government is going to open hundreds of Gyms in the state villages.
“we wanted to ask the chief minister some questions.We had set up a stage protect at Shamhu and Khanouri borders for a long time.But all of a sudden, the heavy police force swooped down upon our caps and in the presence of the DIG level police officers, a larger number of our trolleys and other luggage and daily use commodities and electronics goods were stolen.we want the CM to answer us back in this regard. We want our loss to be fulfilled by the state,” said Bohar Singh Rupian Wala,district president of the BKU Sidhupur Ekta Faridkot.
“Second, we wanted to know how the Haryana police entered Punjab and allegedly abducted some farmers and killed one Shubhkaran Singh. The CM had allegedly promised to regard Shubhkaran as the martyr,but nothing has moved so far,’ said Bohar Singh.
“We are also pained to see how some bank has publicly insulted the farmers by displaying their photos as loan defaulters and the government has planned to Kurki(The court ordered attachment and auction of the property of a borrower.We shall not let it happen,” said Bohar Singh.
Bohar Singh also raised the issue of their protest against the Land Mortgage Bank Faridkot.
“Mann, when was out of power and in opposition, encouraged the people to ask questions from the lawmakers when to come to them.But now when he is in power and we want to ask question to the chief minister, he is evasive all the way.The police had cordoned off the whole village and we were not allowed to reach the venue,” said Bohar Singh.
SSP Faridkot Gurbans Singh Bains Speak:
When contacted,SSP Faridkot, Gurbans Singh Bains said that some members of the farmers union have been detained only as a precautious measure.It was for security purpose of the Chief minister as per the security protocol.Otherwise there is nothing, no arrests have been made, They have only been detained some some time.
The detained farmers were transported to the police lines Faridkot.
Mann himself woven the web and the union has also not anything new to ask,but Mann must answer them at one spot in Punjab
The KIsan union activists are right when they say that Bhagwant Mann had himself exhorted the public to ask questions when the the elected members come to them.He had allegedly even once talked of throwing stones at them saying that now one knows that where does the clod or stone come from.The the many leaders of the erstwhile or outgoing governments had to face this public ire.Badal family was worst him in 2017, though the APP failed to make inroads into electorate.
But the farmers union too has no new questions now which may leave much impact on the minds of the public.
“When there are protests and most of the things come out of donations. as they come, the same way they go.The most painstaking thing is the loss to life and private property,” said a farmer wishing not to be named.
Rajiv Dixit, an Indian social activist(1967-2010) had rightly said many years ago that it is a system and whoever comes to it,fits in it.Nothing different would happen.So is Bhagwant Mann led AAP government.
