“63 nodal officers have been appointed in the district for the purpose,”Dr Karanjeet Singh,CAO Muktsar.
Dr Balvir Chand, joint director agriculutre on Thursday visited Muktsar to ensure the check of the attack of white fly and pink boll worms on the next season cotton crop.
He appealed alll the farmers and village panchayats to ensure that all the cotton residual, as dry cottonplants reserved for fuel by the farmers must be disposed off by March 31.
He aslo instructed the agricultral offical to spread awarensss among the cotton growers and farmers about how to check the attack of white fly and pink boll worm on the mext cotton crop by going to the fields and distributing the literature.
Dr Karanjeet Singh Gill, chief agriculkutre oficer Muktsar was also present on the occasion and he said that the agriclutre department has appointed 63 nodal officers for this purpose.
It is pertinent to mention that white fly and pink boll work attack had badly damaged the cotton in the past years.
The experts said that pests survive on the residual of the crop and weeds , attack the crop in the favourable atmosphere and it can be avoided by taking early steps this regard.
