Over 100 accused have been arrested and the cases against them are being registered-Bains
More than 30 drug smugglers/pedlars arrested,two pistols recovered-the SSP

Coming down heavily on the antisocial elements, the district police on Saturday swooped down at the possible hideouts and searched and cordoned off the areas in the district arresting more than hundreds of the accused or criminals.
The raids were conducted by various teams of the police at the same time.
“During the operation Prahar, the Faridkot police have arrested about 48 (4 dozens) accused who had some serious cases registered against them and their arrests were yet to made.Apart from it, the police have also arrested 100 persons against whom some serious offences are made out and the cases are going to be registered against them.The police have also arrested about 30 drug pedlars and smugglers and have also recovered 2 pistols during the operation,” said Gurbans Singh Bains,SSP Faridkot in a press note to the media today.
The police have also arrested 3 proclaimed offenders also during the operation which is still going on.
The operation Prahar has been launched on the directions of the DGP Punjab Gauav Yadav, under the initiatives of the government of Punjab under banned”Yudh Nashian Virudh” and “Vaar On Gangsters”.(War against drugs and attack on the gangsters)
The operation was being supervised by IG Faridkot Nilambari Vijay Jagdale,IPS.
