Illegal residential construction demolished in Faridkot
The owner had four cases under various sections of IPC and BNS-SSP Faridkot.

“Faridkot police have registered about 121 cases of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances(NDPS) and 310 accused have been arrested so far,”said Dr Pragya Jain,SSP Faridkot in a press release to the media today.
“We have also nabbed 25 big smugglers(big fish) and property worth Rs 4.33crore has been seized or frozen,” she said.
The police and health department of the district have also sealed two illegal drug-de addiction centres,in Faridkot and Golewala village on Saturday.
Illegal construction demolished
The district administration on Monday demolished allegedly an illegal construction located in Bazigar basti Faridkot.
The operation was assisted by the district police which was supervised by the SSP herself.
The property was owned by one Pargat Singh, a resident of Faridkot.
“Pargat Singh has a criminal background. There are four cases registered against him under various sections of IPC and BNS apart from one case of NDPS act.The construction in question was illegal and an encroachment. The civil administration had already served him notices and finally, after following due process, it has been removed,” said Dr Pragya Jain,SSP Faridkot.
The SSP said that if one is found indulging drug smuggling and he acquires some property or other assets, they would be got attached following due procedure.
She also appealed to the people to come up with information about drug smugglers and their names would be kept secret.
