Displaying professional acumen and swift action, Faridkot Police has cracked a blind and brutal murder case in flat 24 hours and arrested the cold-blooded killer.
Giving details, SSP Gurbans Singh Bains said that on August 27, police received information regarding recovery of body of a 60-year-old unidentified woman in semi-naked condition under City Faridkot area. A case under FIR No. 434 dated 27-08-2026 U/S 103(1) BNS was registered at Police Station City Faridkot.
The heinous nature of the crime was taken as a challenge. Special teams were formed under the leadership of SSP Faridkot as per zero-tolerance policy against crime on the directions of DGP Punjab.
Using CCTV footage, technical inputs and ground intelligence, Faridkot Police solved the blind murder mystery within 24 hours.The accused has been identified as Raju son of Bihari Lal, resident of Bholuwala Road, Jot Ram Colony, Faridkot, age around 50 years. He has been arrested.
Interrogation revealed that the accused first raped the elderly woman and then murdered her brutally by smashing her head and body with bricks.
SSP Bains said that interrogation is on and efforts are being made to identify the deceased. He categorically warned that Faridkot Police will deal with an iron hand against those indulging in heinous crimes against women.
