Deputy Commissioner Faridkot Rahul Chabba reviewed the final arrangements for the five-day Baba Sheikh Farid Agman Purb 2026 and the 10-day Craft Mela.
The review meeting was held today at the venue of the Craft Mela – New Dana Mandi, Ferozepur Road, Faridkot.
Officers from various departments concerned with the mela attended the meeting.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner informed that Baba Farid Agman Purb will be held from September 19 to September 23 and the Craft Mela will run from September 19 to September 28 at New Dana Mandi, Ferozepur Road, Faridkot.
He said that adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration and police department for the same.
The DC took stock of traffic management, security arrangements, ticket counters, drinking water, sanitation, parking and other facilities for the daily visitors to the mela.
He directed the in-charges of various committees and officers to make smooth arrangements for the mela so that people visiting here do not face any difficulty.
He said that all voluntary organizations and religious institutions of the district will also have a major contribution to this mela and full cooperation is being extended by them to the district administration.
The DC said that different stalls are being set up in this Craft Mela. Artisans from different states are reaching this craft fair. Apart from this, stalls of cuisines from different states will also be the centre of main attraction. Special arrangements for swings and entertainment items have also been made in this Agman Purb.
The Dc further said that vigorous efforts will be made to make the mela plastic-free. The city cleanliness work has also been completed, he added.Police department officials informed that police personnel have been deployed for security arrangements in the city.
Apart from this, adequate arrangements for traffic and parking have been made by the police department in coordination with the district administration. They said this time their best effort is that common people do not face any traffic problem.On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Keshav Goyal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Sandeep Malhotra, SDM Kotkapura Rajinder Singh, SDM Jaito Vikramjit, DRO Lovepreet Kaur, Tehsildar Parminder Singh, Secretary Red Cross Mandeep Monga and District Language Officer Manjit Puri, Jasbir Jassi, Captain Dharam Singh from Gurdwara Mata Kheevi Ji and officers of all departments and representatives of committees concerned with the fair were present.
