The counting will start at 8 am on December 17 at three centers at designated places in the three subdivisions.

“All the arrangements for the counting of votes for Zila Parishads and Block Samitis are complete and all the concerned officers have been deputed at the three counting stations, at Nehru Stadium Faridkot,Dr Hari Singh Sewak senior secondary school Kotkapura and University college Jaitu.The counting will start at 8 am at these respective counting centers established in the three subdivisions,” said Punamdeep Kaur,DC cum district election officer Faridkot.
“Strict security arrangements have been made by cordoning off the counting centers and no unauthorized persons shall be allowed to enter the counting centers. We are committed to complete the counting in very transparent ,fair and peaceful environment,” the DC said.
“ADC General Harjot Kaur would be the returning officer for Zila Parishad Faridkot,Gurkirandeep Singh, assistant commissioner general for block samitis Faridkot,Suraj Kumar,SDM Kotkapura for Block Samiti Kotkapura,Navin Kumar,Ex Engineer PWD,B and R would be presiding officer for BS Jaitu,” the DC said in a press release to the media today.
There are 10 zones of ZP and 65 for BSs for which 47 and 273 candidates had filed nomination papers.
Officially, there was about over 47 per cent polling had taken place in the district.
