The results of the 10 seats of the zila parishad and 65 block samitis in the district are not as they may have been expected the APP,which rode on the emotions of the common man to give a change, abandoning the VIP culture, running the government from the villages, eliminating drugs,bringing the culprits of sacrilege behind the bars and changing the system by overhauling it.
To the most shocking for the AAP, the AAP candidate from Sandhwan Zone ,which is the village of speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, the congress candidate advocate Gurbinder Kaur Sandhwan has won, allegedly defeating the AAP candidate.
“The public have supported us.We are not the cheaters like the AAP people. So we have won the ZP elections from zone Sandhwan.We are not making false assurances to the people and they understand it,We are ahead on the counting of the 8 seats of the block samitis and expect some more,’ said Ajapal Singh Sandhu,halqua incharge of the INC from Kotkapura who had unsuccessfully contested the Kotkapura assembly elections.
By 4.25 PM, the AAP was in the lead on the two seats,from Faridkot rural and Rorikapura.
The INC was leading in Pakka ,Sandhwan and Khara of zila Parishad zones,on the three seats.
The SAD was in lead on Sadik ,Golewala and Panjgrain kalan.
The final results are still waiting till the filing uof this report.
As for the results of the block samitis are concerned ,AAP was leading on 16 seats, SAD on 11 seats and INC on 6 and BJP on 2 seats out of the 65 seats in the district.
‘This is a shock for the AAP which rode on promises which proved to be false, Nothing changed on the ground and the VIP culture which the party promised to shed, is more sticky to the party leaders. The issue of the sacrilege is yet to go to the final conclusion, but there are only freebies. How long you can win the elections by offering freebies. The AAP elected members have gone much away from the people who elected them and rather started started tend to ignore those. This is an expected shock to the party so that it can wake up in time before the next assembly elections of 2027,’ said a local.
The high expectations of the people from AAP were not met leaving a big vacuume.
