If BJP comes to power in Punjab,24 crops would be procured on MSP.
Under formerly known as MGNREGA scheme ,daily wages are proposed to be increased up to Rs 500,be allowed to work in the farming sector.50-50 basis payment be shared by the farmers and the government to overcome acute shortage of labour.
Farmers must be paid within 24 hours after procurement,in case of non payment,would get interest on it.
Genuine seeds be provided to the farmers through the state agriculture varsity.
Bhai Rahul Singh Sidhu,former member of the Punjab Public Service Commission and Halqa in charge of INC from Kotkapura on Saturday held a meeting with Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini.
Bhai Sidhu said that he discussed the problems in Punjab regarding agriculture.
“I am closely associated with the agriculture family and when I met with the Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, I took up issues of Punjab for discussion.THe Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana procures about 24 crops on MSP,but in Punjab,only wheat and paddy are procured on MSP,so if the BJP government comes to power in Punjab, about 24 crops would be purchased on the MSP,”said Rahul Sing Sidhu,speaking to the Punjab Express.com over phone.
“I also took up the issue of the seeds.The farmers in Punjab,sometimes fail to get the genuine seeds and they are allegedly cheated by some seed dealers.I want that the farmers must be provided the genuine seeds by the state university as the seeds are the backbone of agriculture,’ Bhai Sidhu said.
“Apart from it, I also discussed about the acute shortage of labour in all agriculture sectors in the state.Earlier,people used to rear milch cattle as an allied occupation and called the cattle as Pashu Dhan, but now due to the shortage of labour, the most of the people of Punjab has abandoned this occupation.So I discussed this issue with Saini.I proposed that if the now renamed G-RAM-G(Formerly known as MGNREGA) is paid an an enhanced wages Rs 500 per day and is allowed to work in the fields of the farmers,it would unburden the state and benefit the farmers as well.I have proposed that if they are given Rs 500 per day,Rs 250 be given by the farmer and 250 by the government.This way, the labour would get more working days and farmers would not be facing the shortage of the labour,’ said Bhai Rahul Singh.
“If the BJP government comes to power in 2027,The Punjab farmers would also be given Rs 18 per cent interest on the payment of procured produce if it gets delayed by 24 hours.It is not that you sell the crop and wait for the payments for many days,” said Bhai Rahul Singh.
Bhai Sidhu had been earlier working for BJP from Muktsar constituency and of late, has been very active in Kotkapura assembly segment where had had allegedly done remarkable development works during the tenure of the government.
He has an alleged strong bond with the people of the Kotkapura assembly segment.
Nayab Singh Saini, the chief minister of Haryan has been very active in Punjab and propagating the BJP agenda in the state in view of the approaching assembly election February 2027.
Bhai Rahul Singh Sidhu has been working as Halqa in charge of the BJP and is a prominent face of the party.
I took up the policy and vision of the BJP which has been in Haryana and discussed it about Punjab, said Bhai Sidhu.
I made some suggestions during the healthy discussion with Mr Saini for the welfare of the farmers and agricultural workers of Punjab, which were seriously taken by the Haryana CM,said Rahul Singh Sidhu.
