A district level programme on”War Against Drugs” is going to be held on Friday,May 2 at Alaska Grand located at Ferozpur road Faridkot.
“The district level programme to generate awareness among the common man is going to be held on May 2,Friday.Apart from the people of the district,the members of the defence committees formed at village and town level would participate in it. The cabinet miniters Tarnpreet Singh Sondh,Laljeet Singh Bhullar and Dr Baljeet Kaur would attend the programme as the chief guests,” said Punamdeep Kaur,DC Faridkot while taking stock of the preparations of the programme today.
“Punjab government under CM Bhagwant Mann is committed to eradicate drugs from the society. The government has been implementing many phased programmes to eradicate this evil. First of all, the drug smugglers are being arrested, then we are reaching out to all the people and identifying the victims of the drugs so that they can be admitted to the drug de addiction centres and then rehabilitated. We are appealing to all walks of the people to help the district administration identify the people affected from the drugs so that they can be brought back to the normal life.After they start leading healthy life, they would also be provided the employment opportunities,”said Punamdeep Kaur,DC Faridkot in a press release to the media today.
The DC also appealed to all the officials of the government to help launch this public awareness campaign at a wide scale so that more and more people can benefit from the initiatives of the state government.
