Under the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and as part of the intensified campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” to make Punjab a drug-free state, Faridkot Police, under the leadership of DGP Punjab Shri Gaurav Yadav, conducted a planned and intelligence-based operation against drug trafficking networks. During the operation, 06 drug smugglers, including 02 women, were arrested with 4.804 kg heroin and 01 weapon, thereby busting a Pakistan-backed international drug cartel. This information was shared by Dr. Pragya Jain, SSP Faridkot, during a press conference on Sunday.
Among the arrested accused are Amardeep Singh alias Boxer and Dimple Rani, who belong to Ferozepur district; Ramanadeep Kaur, Sarabjit Singh alias Sabba and Amritpal Singh alias Abhijot, who are residents of Moga district; and one more accused, Jarnail Singh alias Goldy, who belongs to Ludhiana district. The police party recovered 4 kg 804 grams of heroin, ₹30,000 drug money, one .30 bore pistol along with 03 live cartridges from their possession. In addition, the Thar and XUV-500 vehicles being used for drug trafficking have also been taken into police custody.
Sharing details of the operation, SSP Dr. Pragya Jain stated that on the intervening night of 20-21 Febuary, CIA Staff Faridkot teams intercepted a Thar vehicle parked on the road leading to Green Avenue on suspicion. During a search conducted under the supervision of Shri Tarlochan Singh, DSP (Faridkot), 1 kg 8 grams of heroin and ₹30,000 drug money were recovered from a kit bag placed near the front passenger seat. Four accused present in the vehicle were arrested on the spot.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the consignment had been supplied by Amardeep Singh alias Boxer in his XUV-500 vehicle in exchange for ₹2.60 lakh. Subsequently, he was nominated in the case and later arrested near village Goleana Semnala along with Dimple Rani. Further search led to the recovery of 3.796 kg heroin (in 5 packets), one .30 bore pistol and 03 live cartridges.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused were operating a drug trafficking network in collaboration with Pakistan-based handlers who were sending heroin consignments into Indian territory via drones. The arrested persons were further supplying the contraband to other traffickers.
Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest other associates linked with Pakistan-based handlers. The criminal record verification revealed that the main accused Amardeep Singh alias Boxer already has 09 previous cases registered against him, while other members of the gang also have prior NDPS and Arms Act cases registered against them.
The arrested main accused, Amardeep Singh alias Boxer, is a dismissed employee of the PAP cadre. Additionally, his associate, Jarnail Singh alias Goldy, is presently serving in the Army.
All accused have been produced before the Hon’ble Court and police remand has been obtained to thoroughly investigate their backward and forward linkages.
In this regard, FIR No. 95 dated 21.02.2026 has been registered at Police Station City Faridkot under Sections 21(c) and 27A of the NDPS Act.
SSP Faridkot reiterated that this major success against drug trafficking is the result of continuous efforts by Faridkot Police. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Shri Jogeshwar Singh Goraya, SP (Investigation), and under the direct supervision of Shri Avtar Singh, DSP (Investigation), Faridkot, with active participation of CIA Staff, PS City-1 Faridkot and the Technical Cell teams.
Apart from arresting the drug smugglers, Faridkot Police is also conducting an in-depth investigation into the network operating behind them. The public is urged to share any information related to drug trafficking with Faridkot Police so that drugs can be eradicated from the roots.
