DC Faridkot Punamdeep Kaur, exercising her rights under section 163 of BNS Sanhita, has imposed a ban on the sale of Pregabalin salt above 75 mg in any form of tablets or capsules.
The painkiller, which is used to relieve the patients of spinal cord etc related pain, is being consumed as a drug by the drug addicts, it has been leant.
"No chemist would sell any medicine which contains Pregabalin above 75 mg without the prescription of the registered medical practitioner. The chemist would also ensure that the prescribed drug is not purchased multiple times by the buyer. All the related information would be maintained by the chemist.
