The district police has booked a lawyer from Moga district on the complaint of one Gurpreet Kaur daughter of Sarabjit Singh, resident of Mirza Patti village Panjgrain kalan.
The complainant had alleged that the accused, who is an advocate, had allegedly cheated her of Rs 10.25 lakh on the pretext of sending abroad.
The incident had taken place in August 2022.
The district police, after the investigation of the complaint has registered a case against the accused under section 420 of IPC at Sadar police station Kotkpaura.
