A surprise and detailed checking operation was conducted in the Central Modern Jail, Faridkot on Saturday by the Faridkot Police administration under the leadership of Gurbans Singh Bains, SSP Faridkot with the support of the Jail administration. This checking campaign was done by forming separate teams of about 100 police personnel.
This operation was conducted under the supervision of Avtar Singh DSP (D) Faridkot .During the checking, different police teams were formed and each part of the jail was thoroughly inspected, in which the prisoners’ barracks, canteens, bathrooms, walls, surveillance cameras and other security systems were thoroughly checked.
Avtar Singh DSP (D) Faridkot, while giving information, said that various police teams thoroughly checked every part of the jail, including barracks, canteen, bathroom, perimeter and surveillance cameras. He said that women’s barracks were inspected by women police personnel under special sensitivity and security rules, during which the privacy of women prisoners was given full respect.
He said that this checking was done by the police teams to check any illegal items or drugs and for the security arrangements inside the jail. This campaign was kept secret so that no mischievous elements could get away with its information.
He further said that such sudden checks create fear among the misbehaving inmates in the jail and such checks will be done in future.
