In a major breakthrough under its ‘Zero Tolerance’ campaign, Faridkot Police has safely recovered three minor girls from Maharashtra and apprehended two persons, including a woman, in a sensitive kidnapping case.
According to police, FIR No. 405 under Section 137(2) of BNS was registered at Police Station City-2, Faridkot on August 12, 2026.
Taking immediate cognizance of the sensitive nature of the case, Gurbans Singh Bains, SSP Faridkot, constituted special teams under the supervision of Narinder Singh, SP (Investigation).Led by the SHO of PS City-2, teams from PS City-1 and City-2 launched a coordinated operation using a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence.
Two teams – an advance team and a backup team – carried out systematic raids in Maharashtra despite difficult terrain and logistical challenges.The sustained surveillance and professional strategy resulted in the safe recovery of all three minor girls.
The accused have been identified as Ashwani Kaur and Ashish. Police said further legal action is being initiated against them and a high-level investigation is in progress to expose inter-state links and other members of the gang.Faridkot Police reiterated its commitment to the safety of children and prompt action in sensitive cases.
