Faridkot village boy gets governor general silver medal for topping the University in Canada

Navroj Singh, a student of the Dasmesh Public School Faridkot,who left for Canada after completing his senior secondary with medical stream, has topped the University of North British Columbia in his bachelor programme.

Navroj Singh is the son of the senior journalist Nirmal Singh Sadnanwalia from Faridkot.

He left India in 2021 and pursued a medical course.After the completion of the course,he got PR and then again joined bachelor degree course at the university of UNBC,where he topped the university.

He is doing a job in mental health at a government hospital in Canada.

“We are proud of him.He was very intelligent and always confined to his studies.When he left for abroad on study permit, he did not seek any consultants’ help.He explored all the options before him and joined his study in Canada,’ said Nirmal Singh, his father.

His mother has retired from the health department of late.

He has not only topped in his class, but the varsity examinations.
