Since the congress party got naught(zero) or drew a vote in the Zila Parishad elections from the Jaitu assembly constituency, the infighting with the congress groups has intensified today.
Likewise INC failed to win a single seat from Jaitu constituency of the block samitis.
“The Jaitu Halqa incharge needs to be changed.”Darshan Singh Dhilwan who is the halqa incharge of the Jaitu constituency has lost the block samiti elections from his own village,which is a part of the Jaitu assembly segment,”reads a post on social media allegedly posted by Jagjeet Singh Babla ,former sarpanch of village Wander Jatana,whose father,Darshan Singh Sahota(former president of the district congress) is also a claimant of the assembly ticket from Jaitu(reserved).
“The congress party was at no 1 in jaitu,which has fallen down to the 4th rank due to the inefficient Halqa incharge,” reads another social media post by the same person.
“High command must intervene to look into the matter why the congress party graph has fallen so low.It also needed to be investigated why the candidates from all places not be fielded,those responsible, must be shown the door from the party,” reads another social media post posted by Babla.
When contacted,Babala said that the posts have been written by my friends,one from Canada and another from another village of the constituency,They have spoken about it and I have only reposted those,” he said.
“The responsible persons should have been given tickets.They deserved it.But many places were left vacant.Some of the places were left vacant,like Aulakh and Bishnandi.Ours is the third generation working for the congress and we feel pained for it,’ alleged Babala.
When he asked to specifically come clear how many zones had been left vacant, he failed to answer and when asked to revert to come to this reporter, he did not.
“Actually, there are about five contestants of the MLA tickets for the assembly elections of February 2027.Darshan Singh Dhilwan is the current halqa IN charge and he had unsuccessfully contested the last assembly elections. The the former MP Mohammad Sadiq is claiming ticket for his daughter Javed Akhtar,but Sadiq family is not on good terms with the former Faridkot MLA Kushaldeep Singh alias Kikki Dhillon.Parkash Singh Bhatti,who was appointed the Jaitu Halqa incharge after the death of Gurdev Singh Badal,later on assigned some responsibility from Bathinda, had also joined congress. He is now also a claimant of the ticket from Jaitu.Then there is master Baldev Singh,who switched sides from AAP to congress.Darshan Singh Sahota, a close confidant of former Faridkot MLA and CPS Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon is another claimant of the ticket. Sahota has been the former district congress chief of Faridkot. So there are at least five claimants of the ticket of Jaitu assembly segment,” said Shagan Kataria, senior reporter with a vernacular daily from Jaitu.
When contacted, Darshan Singh Dhilwan said,” Babla even does not know how many villages and polling booths or zones are there in Jaitu constituency. His family never did anything in Jaitu and they are only levelling charges against me.We tried our best to contest each and every seat. But so many leaders, allegedly claiming that they are the ticket claimants from Jaitu marred our chances of winning. The voters got confused by their anti party activities,” said Darshan Singh.
“We have contest elections. There are victory and defeats. There are four five others who create groupism and they confused the voters, it led to the better performance of the others,’ Darshan Singh alleged.
Darshan Singh also demanded an action against the others who confused the voters in the outgoing elections.
