VB Mohali  nabs dealing clerk of Punjab state subordinate services selection board Mohali on the complaint of an ex-serviceman

A team of vigilance Bureau Mohali on Monday nabbed a dealing clerk of Punjab state subordinate services selection board red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 4500.

The raid by the VB was conducted on the complaint of Lakhvir Singh son of Harbans Singh,resident of village Kotbakhtu,tehsil Talwandi Sabo of Bathinda district.

The complainant had alleged that he had applied for the posts of drivers/operators advertised on January 1,2023 in the fire services.

“Earlier, my name was in the merit list, but some female candidate approached the honorable high court. After the court decided the case and again the merit list was out, my name was not there. Then a went to the office of the PSSSB to inquire about it, a dealing clerk demanded to show me my 8th class certificate and told me that I had got less marks in the class 8th.He asked me to send me all my certificates to his mobile number,” alleged Lakhvir Singh, the complainant.

“The clerk later on demanded Rs 10000 from me and I paid him Rs 5500 earlier and later on approached the VB, which laid a trap and conducted a raid yesterday and arrested the clerk,” said Lakhvir Singh.

Inspector Gagandeep Kaur of VB Mohali, who also led the team, confirmed the development.

“Yes, our team has arrested the accused red handed while accepting the bribe RS 4500.The further proceedings of the case are on,” Gagandeep Kaur,when contacted.
