S. Himmat Singh Nakai, Director of West Point School, Kotkapura, brought glory to Punjab by winning the Gold Medal in the 0175 India Open Shotgun Competition (Skeet – Masters Category) held in Patiala from October 30 to November 5, 2025.
Punjab shooters displayed exceptional skill, with Dr. Deepinder Sandhu securing Silver and Gurinder Garcha earning Bronze. The event witnessed participation from top shooters across India, reaffirming Punjab’s dominance in the sport.
After his victory, Mr. Nakai shared,
“To compete in an Olympic sport, one must maintain both physical and mental fitness. In life too, sports and fitness play a vital role in achieving success.”
At West Point School, academics and athletics go hand in hand. Mr. Nakai has cultivated a holistic educational environment where students are encouraged to balance studies with sports and physical wellbeing.
“Health is wealth, and our students are taught that fitness is not just an activity — it’s a way of life,” he added.
This philosophy has produced exceptional results. Among West Point’s alumni is Dr. Sachi Bansal, a former Class X student who is both a qualified doctor and a national-level shooter — a perfect example of the school’s commitment to all-round excellence.
Every year, 7–8 students from West Point win national-level medals, while many others achieve recognition at the state level. These achievements not only bring pride to Punjab but also open doors for higher education and government opportunities.
West Point School congratulated Director Himmat Singh Nakai on his golden success and hailed him as a true role model who leads by example — inspiring every student to aim high, stay fit, and pursue excellence in all walks of life.
