Underlining that the paddy procurement is going on smoothly in the district, Deputy Commissioner Faridkot Punamdeep Kaur has said that most of the dry produce arrived in the grain markets of the district has been purchased by the government agencies.”There was the total arrival of paddy about 282 MT out of which about 169 MT has been procured by the procurement agencies.Pungrain has been very much ahead of the other procurement agencies by purchasing 107 MT of paddy.The rest of the 56 MT of paddy has been purchased by other procurement agencies includinga marginal.puchase of 16 MT by private traders,”The DC has said in a press note issued to the media today.The DC appealed to all the farmers to bring only dry produce,within a limit of 17 percent moisture content so that the paddy procurement may go on smoothly.She further appealed to the farmers not to harvest paddy during early morning and late evening when the produce is fully loaded with moisture content.But it is pertinent to mention that despite the ban on the combine harvester for not cutting the paddy after 6 PM and before 10 AM,there is no implementation of the instructions.
