​Bharti Kisan union Sidhupur-Ekta submits a memorandum to the President of India through DC office

BKU led by Jagjeet Singh Dallewal,which is sphere heading a campaign against the land mortgage bank Faridkot after the two brothers from village Hari Naon committed suicide on Thursday submitted a memorandum in the name of the President of India through the office of the DC faridkot.

The union demands an action against the bank employees for allegedly forcing the farmers to submit blank cheques while availing the agriclutre loans and want them back.

It also seeks action against the bank alleging that the bank played a part to drive the farmer brothers commit suicide,though the bank officals publicly denied it.

It also demanded the agriculture imports to be keep under duty and come out of the trade agreements with the US.

The union further demanded from the union government to implement the Dr Swaminathan commission report.

Apart from the above demands, the union has stated that the farmers have been incurring a loss first due to the heavy rainfalls in summer season, floods, decline in the yields of the crops and now untimely rains and hailstorms have destroyed a crops on large area in Malwa belt.

“We demand immediate assessment of the damage and proper compensation from the government to the farmers,” said Jagjeet Singh Dallewal,president of the union.

The BKU Sidhupur-Ekta has been sitting on a stage protest in front of the land mortgage bank Faridkot for the past three days.
