Finally, whether these kinds of freebies would enable to win the AAP next elections, only time would tell, but these would surely led to the destruction of the fiscal health of the state at the cost of all the other facilities and put the next government, whichever party is that, in an awkward situation.

The Bhagwant Mann led AAP government had promised the women to pay Rs 1000 in 2022, before the elections.
Today, Sunday, coincidently which is also an International women’s day, the government has announced to pay the general category women Rs 1000 and the SC, Rs 1500 respectively.
These flagship schemes have only be introduced just when the AAP has less than one years to go. The government might have known the mathematics very well that it would not be able to run such schemes during all the 5 years,so kept delaying.
Already free power to agriculture sector and old age pensions like schemes are there.
First of all, why, if the scheme was sustainable, was not introduced by the government four years ago?
Next, does the fiscal health of the state, which has already Rs 4 lakh crore loan on it,allow it?
Thirdly, is Rs 1000 or 1500 to nearly all is not a pittance nowadays? What can be purchased with this petty amount?
The government has earmarked Rs 9300 crore for it, covering over 90 per percent women in the state. If Rs 1 crore is invested per village, it could modernize about 9300 villages out of about less 12500 villages across 23 districts of the state.
Apart from it, the government has launched its Rs 10 lakh health insurance scheme this year, for which the people are still getting their eligibility cards made.
Critics allege that this health insurance would not give absolute relief to the card holders/beneficiaries as it the amount to the whole family and it is a package for over 2000 diseases etc with caps on each.Only time would tell how much beneficial would it prove.
Apart from the other two, the government had provided 600 free power units to each household just after formation of its government.
It led to many families splitting their power metres into the names of two or more consumers.
Further meter readers allegedly help people evade the power bill in the summer.
But the question arises why the respective governments are making the people beggers? They want quality education, secure and safe future, health infrastrure, smooth procurements of crops, diversification, more opportunities for lower middle classes, but they are missing.
If you want good education, go to private sector, where they would loot you as the government has given them free hand, for treatments, go to corporates which are now nearly controlling all best health facilities.
If you make a very small purchase, pay taxes, ply on roads, pay toll taxes despite heavy road taxes,GSTs etc,.
If you want to get any work at government departments, you would have make rounds and rounds unless you have political support or give corruption.
When you do not get any jobs here, sell your assets/properties and migrate to other countries and die in the harness there.
The people must not go after freebies. They must question their governments why they are living in deplorable conditions?.The polluted drinking water, dusty roads, garbage heaps, crumbling government health and education system. If they pay taxes, why are they left in the lurch?.
Only a handful people are flourishing in this system, while most are struggling.
The poor people feel pride to get these petty amounts and overwhelmingly participate in the rallies of politicians. If you can earn Rs 50000 per month if there is a system, why are you pleased, content and satisfied with only Rs 1000,2000 or so.
While most of the people now feel unsafe because of crime and other reasons, our politicians are enjoying the security of thousands of various forces personnel.
They are ,of course, deployed with them from taking out of the 80000 strong police force, and are left behind in insufficient numbers to cater to the needs of over 3 crore people.
Finally, whether these kinds of freebies would enable to win the AAP next elections, only time would tell, but these would surely lead to the destruction of the fiscal health of the state at the cost of all the other facilities and put the next government, whichever party is that, in an awkward situation.
As once given something like that, is very difficult at political front to be taken back.
It is pity that we are still claiming the construction of streets, sewerage nallas, drinking water facilities etc after 78 years after independence and many still have to look up to the government to eat their food.
