Panjgrain Kalan village woman cheated for Rs 10.25 lakh, lawyer booked

Raghbir Singh Brar Faridkot The district police has booked a lawyer from Moga district on the complaint of one Gurpreet Kaur daughter of Sarabjit Singh, resident of Mirza Patti village Panjgrain kalan. The complainant had alleged that the accused, who is an advocate, had allegedly cheated her of Rs 10.25 lakh on the pretext of sending abroad. The incident had taken place in August 2022. The district police, after the investigation of the complaint has registered a case against the accused under section 420 of IPC at Sadar police station Kotkpaura.

Kotkapaura to get the pipeline project for the disposal of the sewerage water

Raghbir Singh Brar Faridkot The long standing demand of the residents of Kotkapaura area people may get over soon as the state government has sanctioned Rs 15 crore pipe line project to solve the problem. Earlier, the disposed sewerage waste water was being carried through an old Nalla, which was in very bad shape and developed cracks and openings during the rainy season. Often choked by the weeds, it would get overflown and waste spilled over in the adjoining fields. Now, as per the press note by the district public relation office, the work of laying STP pipes is going to start on it soon. Kultar Singh Sandhwan. Speaker Sandhwan said earlier the Supreme Court had approved the new definition of Aravalli Hills recommended by the committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, but in view of the serious concerns related to it, apex court has now reconsidered the matter and held in abeyance on the previous orders.
